Not every concrete job requires a full replacement. Sometimes, the existing slab just needs professional restoration. Whether you are prepping a commercial floor for a new coating or removing decades of old tile mastic in a basement, professional surface prep is key to a lasting result.
Concrete Grinding & Leveling
Uneven joints create trip hazards and liability issues. We use heavy-duty planetary grinders to:
- Level heaved sidewalk joints (trip hazard removal).
- Smooth out rough or spalled garage floors.
- Prep surfaces for epoxy or other coatings.
Removing Tile Mastic & Glue
Removing old flooring often leaves behind stubborn black mastic, carpet glue, or tile thin-set. Scraping it by hand is nearly impossible.
We use diamond-tooling equipment to grind away these adhesives without damaging the structural concrete underneath, leaving you with a clean, smooth surface ready for new flooring.
Shot Blasting (Surface Profile)
For commercial applications requiring a specific Concrete Surface Profile (CSP), shot blasting is the industry standard. It cleans and roughens the surface to ensure maximum adhesion for high-performance coatings.
Restoring Decorative Concrete
Has your stamped patio lost its luster? In many cases, we can restore faded decorative concrete by stripping old, hazy sealer, cleaning the surface, and reapplying a fresh high-gloss or matte sealer to bring the color back to life.
Common Questions
Is grinding messy?
Concrete dust is fine and invasive. However, we use industrial dust-collection systems connected directly to our grinders to capture the vast majority of dust at the source.
Can you level a heaved driveway slab?
If the difference is minor (less than an inch), grinding can often smooth the transition to remove the trip hazard. If the slab has settled significantly, replacement or mud-jacking may be required.
